Winds of change

All things have to change at some point in time… and the time for me to upgrade the website is here. Since I’m going to go through with that I thought updating my server’s OS and software would be a good idea too.

So what this means is I need to pick the OS and software I’m going to run this time around. Linux has been my server OS drug of choice for the last few years, starting with RedHat 7, but I am also considering WinServer2K3.
I can hear it now… “Why on earth would you think about using WinServer2K3 as your OS?”, I’ll explain… the majority of the servers out in the working world are windows based, so it would be in my best interest to go full out Server2k3 with Active Directory (AD), Exchange to manage my email, IIS as the web server, and some Outlook Web Access on top to get my email from anywhere on the web… but, alas Windows systems bore me. Sorry, just troubleshooting Windows on a daily basis has gotten the best of me, and there still so much in Linux that I haven’t mastered, yet…

From the sounds of things above I’m pretty sure my mine is made up already, I’ve made my decision with blogging system I’m going to be using too, WordPress is the name, but I want to make sure it looks good, and is functional before it goes live, so your going to have to give me a bit.
All for now…
