Well that was interesting

Had one of the greatest moments in my life, and terrifying… with the first week of having Alexander.
I really don’t want to end up near the hospital anytime soon for awhile.

I’ll start off stating that everyone is now healthy, and Alex was never an issue.

So, we have a new bouncing baby boy (no I didn’t try to bounce him), all was healthy except for the lungs didn’t open as fast as the nurse/doctor’s liking, so he spent the night with the ladies under observation. Know issue for babies from C-Sections, something to do with not taking the squishy normal way out… problem was never with him.
Jen on the other hand…
Everything was going fine, she was healing, she was eating, she was gassy… yeah, it’s a thing they look for? All was good, so they release her, and we go home, happy times.
Now for most, it’s a time to sit back and relax, and that’s what she did. Just one issue with that, by Saturday she was having stabbing pains right under her rib cage, no where near the C-Section area, so we set off to the ER around 8-9pm (thankfully the in-laws came to look after the kids). Apparently the ER was a hip place to be, luckily Jen made a call to the on-call OB before we left, who said the problem was “heart burn”, but also called the ER to have us rushed in… which did nothing, since it was SLAMMED (prayers to the ones in the accident).
The doctor shows up around 11pm, but this is after I have to wittiness my wife writhing in pain for about an hour and half, not pleasant at all… but the doctor was good, and calmed us (me) down. Asked for an x-ray, and ultrasound (next day), also started giving her something to help with the pain, and that started with a “pink lady”… it looked like a tasty bar shot, and was suppose to help with the heart burn (yup, really bad heart burn), but I’m sure it wasn’t there long enough to do anything but leave a bad taste. I, with my knowledge gained from high school/college managed to move the garbage can just in time to catch the arc of the “pink lady”… and dinner. After that all pain was gone, and Jen was feeling better. We ended up going for x-rays around 12am, and got the news around 1230am that she had a blockage in the lower intestinal track, he gave some things for Jen to take, and sent us on our way.
We got home at 1am.
Exit visit one.

Enter visit two.
Tuesday morning, things did not improve, and Jen was feeling very drained. No food and water can do that to you… Jen called her OB’s office directly first, and then we head off to the ER. Jen’s mom came over to look after Alex (still awesome), and we take Sophie with us so I can drop her off at daycare after I drop off Jen at the ER. Jen passes through the lines quick, since our OB rocks, and is placed in a room before I can make my way back to the hospital. There we sat for about an hour, before our OB shows up (I think he only owns scubs), tells the nurse what to give her, how, and when… IV is started, meds are applied.
We left around 3-4 in the afternoon, Jen feeling much better, and hungry…

Month after Alexander was born, everyone is doing great.
Well, I got a cold, gave it to Jen, and we don’t sleep, but everything is great.

I’m done typing.
